Upper Blepharoplasty

What is Upper Blepharoplasty?

In general, most people merely consider that saggy eyelids are a natural symptom of aging.

However, the root causes of the aging of eyelids vary and include droopiness of all other parts above the eyelids such as scalp, forehead, eyebrows, and eyelids. Thus, eyelid lift correction is not simply about cutting the saggy parts of the eyelids but correcting the overall balance of eyelids.
Eyesight can become deteriorated by the droopy eyelids, and more wrinkles around eyebrows and the forehead can be created as a patient tries to open his/her eyes wide. As droopy eyelids could cover the iris, his/her sight may also become interrupted. The saggy eyelids cover double eyelid lines as well. Upper blepharoptosis wrinkle surgery reduces saggy eyelids and it is divided into upper blepharoplasty and endoscopic brow lift. Upper blepharoptosis wrinkle surgery consists of blepharoplasty.

  • It removes the saggy skin of eyelids an creates new double eyelid lines.
  • There are other methods of removal of the sagging skins without creating double eyelid folds and proportional resection of skin around eyebrows.

Subbrow Excision
Some people who are middle-aged or are seniors, who have thick eyelid skin, tend to be unsatisfied with their double eyelid line surgery.
The droopy eyelids can fester the outer edge of eyelids and can cause inflammation around these areas. Moreover, as droopy eyelids can interrupt his/her sight, patients try to open their eyes wider. This habit results in creating wrinkles on his/her forehead.
Sub-brow excision can build a refreshed eye shape by pulling the saggy eyebrows upward
