Planning your plastic surgery in Seoul?

At JW Plastic Surgery, we understand that the day of your surgery might be both exciting and stressful. To help you feel fully prepared, we’ve created this easy step-by-step guide explaining what happens on surgery day, from your arrival at the clinic to your comfortable recovery afterward.

Whether you’re having rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast augmentation, or body contouring, our medical team follows precise, patient-focused process to ensure your safety and peace of mind.

Arrival and Check-In

Please arrive at JW Plastic Surgery at your designated time and remember to follow your fasting instructions exactly as directed.

Our medical staff will help you prepare step by step:

  • Wash your face thoroughly to remove any skincare products.
  • Take pre-surgery photos for your medical record.
  • Complete a final safety checklist to confirm your readiness.

You’ll then meet with your surgeon and consultant to review your surgical plan, confirm the design, and discuss any last questions. This ensures you feel confident and well informed before your operation.

IMPORTANT: Don’t wear makeup, nail polish, contact lenses, piercing or jewelry on the day of your surgery.

Pre-Surgery Preparation

Our team will guide you to your private recovery room, where your pre-surgery preparation begins. You’ll receive a clean surgical gown. Please remove all undergarments and socks and change into the slippers provided.
If you have long hair, tie it neatly into a high bun to keep it secure during surgery.

Before Entering the Operating Room

A few final steps are needed to maintain a perfectly sterile environment:

  1. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash. Do not swallow.
  2. When going into the air shower, the nurse will go in first and when they close the door on the other side you may open the door and step in.
  3. Before going into the surgery room, the nurses will give you hand sanitizer and check your temperature.

Inside the Operating Room

Once inside, be sure to avoid coming into contact with the green cloth in the surgery room as they are disinfected. Keep your eyes closed during facial sterilization, and after we disinfect your lips, don’t lick them.

In the OR, nurses will carefully prepare you:

  • Blood pressure will be measured on one arm.
  • An IV will be inserted into the other. Gently pump your fist to help the flow.
  • The anesthesiologist will administer anesthesia, so you remain completely comfortable.

After confirming all sterilization and safety protocols, your plastic surgery begins.

Recovery After Surgery

When your surgery is finished, you’ll be moved to your private recovery room for rest.
Our nurses will monitor your condition and ensure you are stable and comfortable.

Depending on your procedure type, you may drink water between 15 minutes to 2 hours after surgery.
When you’re ready to leave, our staff will arrange a taxi service to your hotel, ensuring you get back safely.
