5 Ways Koreans protect their skin from air pollution

  • Use Sunscreen
If there’s one thing to do on a daily basis to help skin resist damage from air pollutants, it is to use a high-quality SPF sunscreen on your bare skin.   • Drink water and antioxidants
Regular exposure to air pollution can contribute significantly to dryness and sagging and in the skin. One of the simplest – and cheapest – ways to maintain the skin’s natural moisture barrier is to drink a lot of water throughout the day. Other liquids beneficial to skin’s health include green tea, and smoothies containing blueberries, strawberries, and kale. On the other hand, too much coffee and alcohol will have the reverse effect; drying out your skin and giving it a thinner, less supple appearance.

  • Double cleanse
Skin only becomes damaged by air-pollutants if exposure is regular and prolonged. To help minimize your skins’ exposure to the dust particles, be sure to clean very thoroughly every morning and night. We recommend ‘double cleansing’; a Korean method of cleansing which involves first washing the face with water and a cleansing foam, and then wiping off any remaining dirt and make-up with an oil-based cleanser.
